When we started this project, we were inspired by the very essence of the shoebox, the small house. In a world that is constantly changing, where everything seems to be getting bigger and faster, we wanted to get back to the basics, to what really matters. The shoebox represents for us much more than just a small house. It symbolizes simplicity, efficiency and respect for the environment.
By keeping this idea, we wanted to show that it is possible to live meaningfully in a small space, without sacrificing comfort or quality of life. It is a reminder that greatness is not measured in square meters, but in quality of life.
But we didn’t stop there. By building seven homes next door, we wanted to create a community, a place where people can connect, share and grow together. These homes are an extension of our vision of the shoebox, giving everyone a personal space while being part of a tight-knit community.
By combining the simplicity of the shoebox with the warmth of community, we sought to create a place where every resident can find both inner peace and connection with others. This is our vision of sustainable, respectful and human-centered living.
