Salone del Mobile is where direction is set.
This year, I had the chance to meet some of the minds shaping global design: Marcel Wanders, who creates furniture and interiors that redefine luxury through storytelling; Gabriele Chiave, who leads creative direction across major fashion and design brands; and Toan Nguyen, who designs collections for leading international manufacturers.
They’re not just designers. They’re the ones deciding what comes next.
They’re behind the pieces we see in showrooms and projects around the world and what stood out to me is how intentional everything is. When you speak with them, you realize that every detail has a reason. Nothing is random.
If you don’t know who’s behind the work, it’s hard to fully understand why it’s designed the way it is.
Being immersed in environments like Fendi Casa goes beyond inspiration. It’s where you see how fashion houses are shaping the direction of interiors and setting the tone, not following it.
What’s interesting is that many local designers and architects don’t always have direct access to this level of work, these conversations, or the people behind it.
And that matters.
Because design is evolving globally and staying connected to that evolution changes the way you think, create, and execute projects.
For me, it reinforces what we’re building at Maison Territo.
Not just a showroom, but a bridge that’s bringing international design, ideas, and relationships back to Montreal.
